Our History

Virtus Legal  was established on 4th February 2008, at its present location at Suite 206, Warrens Court, Warrens, St. Michael.

“Virtus” is the Latin for excellence. It is a statement of our commitment to providing excellence in client service. Virtus Legal focuses on achieving the goals and objectives of our clients within time and agreed budgets. Our priority is to practise law with unimpeachable integrity, professionalism, excellence in client services and openness to our clients.

Tools and resources are essential. Books, it is said, are the tools of the lawyers’ trade, and we have invested substantially in an extensive and modern library with textbooks and other legal materials in electronic form to enable us to provide up-to-date legal advice. Also, we subscribe to well-known legal data bases, which give us access to old and new case law in Barbados, the Caribbean, and several countries in the Commonwealth, including England, as well as access to commentaries and precedents in a wide range of practice areas. Our attorneys are able to provide up-to-date legal advice in a wide range of practice areas.

Virtus Legal embraces evolving technologies to meet legal needs. Our modern technology allows permitted clients remote access to the office server. It also enables constant contact with all persons in chambers, to allow communication and cooperation where attorneys are working jointly on a project. We also have modern relevant legal practice software to help us manage clients and legal practice and to deliver the excellence in service which we strive for daily.

Our clients include entrepreneurs, large and small business owners in a range of areas, individuals, insurance companies, property developers (including the largest landowner in Barbados), construction companies, manufacturing companies and family-owned companies.

We at Virtus Legal recognize the increasing globalisation of business relations and Virtus Legal is a member of IR Global. The aim is to develop the Virtus Legal brand globally.
